IPC Collaboration Series – Call for Presenters

APIC is launching a new IPC Collaboration Series in 2020! This new learning platform will feature joint presentations by IP experts with their peers.

What is the IPC Collaboration Series?

Cross-departmental collaboration has never been easier with APIC’s new IPC Collaboration Series! Participants will hear from IPs paired with various department leaders, including food service, environmental services, quality and more. Through presentation and discussion, best practices will be shared on how to build relationships with various departments in your healthcare setting while examining how your role as IP or department leader impacts infection prevention for your facility, staff, and patients.

Speaker Candidates

We are seeking teams of two (IP and department lead) to present an engaging and conversational case study focused on how you built relationships with various departments in your healthcare setting while examining how your role as IP or department leader impacts infection prevention.

Presentation Details

We actively seek:

  • Teams of two (IP and department lead)
  • Speaker Bios
  • Quantitative proof of success of process or activity
    • Description of how the collaboration helped to improve the IPC program and vice versa (including specific examples of how the two departments worked together)
  • Description of presentation with talking points
  • Ability to be on camera and access to webcam (as if you’re presenting to a room of people)

When crafting team speaker submissions, remember that you’re going to be talking to an audience with varying levels of expertise, skill sets, and professions. While we don’t expect your presentation to be applicable to everyone, it should be relevant to a wide audience. Please avoid making too many assumptions about what people already know. (If you are making those assumptions about what your audience knows, it helps everyone if you state them upfront explicitly.)

How to Submit

The Call for Speakers application has closed for 2020. If you have ideas or are interested in presenting in 2021, please contact eLearning@apic.org.
