Group Training

APIC has 45+ years serving the infection control profession and providing education to those in the field. Utilize our network of educators’ expertise to provide training and education for your group. APIC’s group training provides fundamental infection prevention and control (IPC) education for:

  • City and State Health Departments
By providing training and education to IPs in your jurisdiction, you empower these professionals to provide the best level of care, in the safest setting possible. Attendees are eligible to earn contact hours/CEs.
  • Organizations and Corporations
If your team interacts with and/or delivers tools and services for IPs, it’s important that they can speak the language of IPs. A solid understanding of basic microbiology and the daily issues facing those working in the profession is a necessity.

Available APIC programs include:

EPI® in Long-Term Care Certificate Program

Federal regulations have a significant impact on how long-term care (LTC) facilities address IPC. With Phase 3 of the CMS Mega Rule going into effect on November 28, 2019, this program helps prepare these facilities for the change. The objectives of the course are to provide those working in LTC with a baseline of IPC knowledge, as well as information on handling the infection prevention challenges that are unique to the LTC practice setting.

EPI® Intensive Certificate Program

APIC’s Education for the Prevention of Infection (EPI) Intensive Certificate program provides foundational IPC training for healthcare professionals working in different practice settings. Attendees will learn how to develop an effective IPC program to protect patients and comply with accrediting and regulatory requirements through evidenced-based best practices that reduce risk.

CIC® Certification Preparation

Designed for candidates preparing to take the Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC) CIC exam for certification and/or re-certification, this course prepares healthcare workers with essential information to prepare and study for the exam, including APIC study materials.

Basics of Infection Prevention and Control For Non-Clinicians

Developed for professionals who interact with and deliver tools and services for IPs, this course provides an overview of IPC and a general framework for understanding and appreciating the important work of IPs.

“The Louisiana Department of Health Healthcare-associated Infections and Antibiotic Resistance (HAI/AR) Program contracted APIC to provide premier infection prevention training for IPs in 2018 and again in 2019. Coordinating with APIC staff members made the events seamless to implement and memorable for attendees. APIC provides exceptional instructors for the training courses.”
