Increase your proficiency with Microsoft Excel, one of the most essentials tools in an infection preventionist’s toolkit.
Designed by subject matter experts well-versed in the healthcare environment, each section of the course focuses on aspects of Excel that will be of specific use to an IP. Similarly the sample data set reflects the types of data that is commonly collected, analyzed, and presented by an IP.

ABOUT THE COURSE
Is the thought of learning new or unfamiliar technology overwhelming? Even the most basic of software skills can become a low priority when you’re just trying to manage your day-to-day tasks, but these “tech tools” can make you more efficient and enhance your reporting abilities. Through narrated presentations and activities, we will show you the features of Excel to help keep your data in an easy-to-use and presentable format.

Andrea Ankrum has twelve years of experience in clinical microbiology laboratories specializing in molecular testing and development. She has been in Infection Prevention at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for five years.
Kim Stanley, MPH, CIC, Surveillance Practitioner, UCSF Medical Center
Kim Stanley has worked in Infection Prevention for almost 10 years in San Francisco, CA. Currently, she works at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Medical Center in the Hospital Epidemiology and Infection Control department. Kim is very involved in her local APIC chapter and has served on its Board of Directors.
Deana Samms, BS, MA, CIC, Infection Preventionist, Charleston Area Medical Center
Deana Samms is an Infection Preventionist with 19 years experience at varying levels of individual and program responsibilities in infection prevention. She currently serves in a variety roles; an Infection Preventionist at Charleston Area Medical Center, a consultant with APIC Consulting, adjunct professor at Liberty University, and a professional counselor. A former APIC Chapter President, her expertise includes performance improvement, project management, conflict resolution, work group facilitation, written and verbal communication.

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology, Inc. (APIC) is accredited with distinction as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC).
Course evaluations will be available in your online training menu at the end of the course.
All course-related evaluations must be completed within 30 days of course completion. After satisfying all evaluation requirements, a certificate of completion will be available to print and/or download under My Transcripts for your records indicating CEUs.

Cancellation Policy
CANCELLATION/TRANSFER POLICY:
APIC must receive all cancellations in writing within 30 days of purchase if you have not yet started the course. If you have started the course, you must submit your cancellation within 7 days of the start day to be eligible for a refund.
