APIC 2012 in San Antonio, Texas broke records for attendance with more than 4,500 members and exhibitors at the meeting.

2010
  • Fifth Decennial held in Atlanta in collaboration with SHEA, IDSA and the CDC.

2012
  • APIC has more than 14,000 members from all 50 U.S. states and from 48 countries, including 126 chapters, four of which are international.
  • APIC 2020 Strategic Plan introduced: Vision—Healthcare without infection. Mission—Creating a safer world through prevention of infection

2013
  • APIC membership tops 15,000.

2016
  • APIC Headquarters moves to Crystal City, Virginia
