The Chapter Leader Award provides the opportunity for chapters to recognize one of their members at the APIC Annual Conference. The criteria for this award are determined by local chapter leadership, but APIC’s Nominating and Awards committee suggests that the individual:

  • be a chapter member for at least 2 years.
  • serves as an officer or mentor, and/or participates in community activities.

All nominees must have an active APIC and chapter membership to be considered for this award.

The Chapter Leader Awards are presented during the Chapter Officers’ Meeting at the APIC Annual Conference. Each award recipient receives a certificate.

  • Any APIC chapter may nominate a local chapter member for the Chapter Leader Award.
  • The nomination should be submitted by the chapter president.  If the chapter president is being nominated for the award, then the immediate past president or president-elect must provide their approval.
  • Individuals cannot self-nominate.
  • One nomination per chapter, per year.

The application for the Chapter Leader Award consists of:

  • Online application
  • Nomination letter describing the significance of the nominee’s contributions to APIC and the local chapter, citing specific activities.
    • The nomination letter must provide sufficient information to demonstrate the nominee’s eligibility, including the chapter’s selection criteria.
  • List of nominee’s chapter(s) participation.
